For me to pursue a career in this field, I felt I would need to witness laparoscopic surgery at its best. This is why I pursued the ‘MMAS’ course in DIHS. It is not merely a title so many covet; the determination, endurance and challenging decision making skills I learnt in this year, illustrated what a career in laparoscopic surgery truly entails. Understanding the true principles among diversity of techniques brought clarity through an enhanced learning programme, which this course offered. It will allow my surgical practice to change from the lick of paint, unable to view my own position on the canvas, to the critic, who seeks the underlying order and form, to build a sense of the entire picture.
